I purchased these on a whim for a last minute Bahamas getaway. My husband and son already have flippers and snorkels so I just wanted something cost effective to use. Well, I am literally writing this review from the Bahamas: these are great! My husband tried them as well (we are within a half s hoe size of each other) and not only did these outperform his super expensive fins, but he "stole" them from me. I didn't even need the aqua socks (or whatever they're called) to make them comfortable, like my husband has to use with his. These are a keep and just ordered another pair in a different color so my husband has his own!
My husband is a diver, snorkeler and an all around fish lol. He has a collection of fins and he said these are great. They are hard so it gives better thrust. Living in Florida you can never have to many. What’s nice is the bag has the netting so it drains and dries Easy. We have a compartment on the boat for these and he literally rinses leaves to dry and out in for the next time.
These flippers are awesome! You don't realize how fast you can move in the water until you grow a set of dolphin-worthy flippers and jump in! We're going on a return vacation to Jamaica, and along with my full-face snorkeling mask, I wanted a pair of flippers so I could really move through the water this time. I bought a snorkeling mask and these flippers to test in the pool at home, and honestly, I need a bigger pool to really test these bad boys out, because in only a couple kicks I am at the other side of the pool. I'm very pleased with the weight of these flippers; I specifically bought these because other reviews said they were not heavy (you want to save every ounce when flying, right?!), and I don't believe you're going to find quality flippers that are lighter without spending a considerable amount more on scuba-worthy flippers. Very please, they have a tremendous amount of bend to them and will not take up much space at all because they compress flat very well. In short:L I'm very pleased and would definitely recommend/buy again!
I purchased these because they were the same brand and matched the snorkel mask I bought at the same time for an upcoming trip. Very happily surprised at the quality! These are not your standard long dive fins, these are made to fit in a smaller bag and to make it easier to walk around between swims. I was looking for a shorter fin because often snorkeling in shallow water you're walking around as much as you are swimming. With a long fin you are taking awkward steps into and out of the water or trying to put on the fins in the water which I hate. These are long enough and with enough flex to give you a nice push when swimming, but short enough to wear into and out of the water. You can walk with them on!The quality of the buckles are very good, and they stay latched and tight to your heel. If you are wearing these or any open heel fin for long periods of time I recommend a water slipper or dive boot to protect from any chafing as sand may get between the strap and your heel.I've never used Modus products before, but the mask was an Modus recommended item and I went ahead and got the matching short fins. I'm very impressed with the manufacturing quality and will purchase more of their swim products assuming these hold up well through this beach trip.
Great value! Good fit & easy to use for lap swimming but almost became useless after first use. DO NOT RELEASE STRAP IN WATER WITHOUT CHECKING THAT SIDE CLIPS ARE FULLY SECURED! I released the strap in the water & the retaining clip immediately fell out. Since I was swimming in an open bay, I lost it but I eventually found it as the area was calm & shallow. My fault and I've really enjoyed them since!
